The Drum


Today I am practicing a new exercise I found in a book I often read and that I would like to suggest to my readers: Michael Michalko's Thinkertoys .
The activity in page 159 "Brutethink" invites you to think in different words, even choose them from the dictionary or any other book and afterwards, start describing and writing aleatory and words that this word brings to your mind: My activity word today is DRUM. And my list of words is:

Noise Sound Rhythm Party Happy Share Admire Funeral Solemn Enjoy Coordinate

What do these words bring to my mind and how are they connected with my PR business? I found several connections:

We need to make noise, to make our services and products known. Reach out. We need to have rhythm, to communicate, to relate constantly. We have to do it with passion and a smile in our face. We need to share the happiness and admire those who perform well. We can sometimes be solemn, but we can never slow down. We can take a while maybe to catch the rhythm again, but never loose the sight of the horizon. Public relations and communications specialists work for a brand, a client, a product with a clear objective: make our clients' lives better and happier thus consolidating and enhancing their image, their products and services and brands' positioning. Social Media is a unique drum for our work. And influencers are nowadays are directors in this concert. Influencers wanted!
